As a key component of slitting machines, blades feature low cutting resistance, excellent wear resistance and wide milling applicability, enabling processing on various materials such as metal, film, leather, rubber and paper.

Thickness, as a critical parameter of blades, directly affects processing efficiency and quality. Therefore, thickness measurement is required during blade design, manufacturing and application to ensure sharpness and service life.

In addition, to avoid excessive wear or blade breakage, defects such as chipping and damage must be inspected to ensure operational safety during cutting, trimming and other mechanical processing.

Measurement Solution:Two cameras are used in opposite arrangement to measure the thickness from the cutting edge to the base surface. By setting a reference surface and measurement points, as well as datum points on the reference surface, XYZ coordinates of corresponding positions are obtained for spatial plane fitting. The distance from each measurement point to the fitted plane is then calculated.
