I. Project Background

Ceramic sheets are key components in electronics, electrical appliances, mechanical equipment, automotive manufacturing and other fields, featuring outstanding insulation, high temperature resistance, electrical breakdown resistance and other properties. However, affected by the firing process, ceramic sheets may suffer from defects such as out-of-tolerance thickness during production due to improper control of temperature, humidity changes and material characteristics by operators.

The properties and performance of ceramic sheets are closely related to their thickness. To ensure the installation and performance of subsequent products, Shenshi Intelligent adopts the SG Series Laser Displacement Sensors for high-precision thickness inspection of ceramic sheets. The non-contact laser thickness measurement method hardly damages ceramic sheets, avoiding defects such as scratches, deformation and fracture.

III. Measurement Process

The thickness measurement of ceramic sheets adopts an upper-lower through-beam sensor arrangement. The SG Series point laser sensors collect inspection data synchronously and continuously, and send the thickness values to the host computer via Ethernet communication, while testing point data at different positions. The host computer can identify NG products by judging the thickness of ceramic sheets.

During inspection, a single SG5001 controller can connect 4 SG5025 sensors, enabling one controller to control four sensors for simultaneous triggering measurement and dual-station inspection. This improves inspection speed while ensuring high precision, greatly increasing production line capacity. In addition, the SG5001 controller provides rich communication interfaces including Ethernet TCPIP (supports ModbusTCP), serial port RS232, analog output and digital output, allowing customers to choose according to actual needs.
