I. Project Background

In recent years, an increasing number of brands have equipped their flagship models with curved screens.Featuring three-dimensional display effects and excellent touch experience, curved-screen products have gained great popularity among global consumers and become a mainstream layout for major consumer electronics manufacturers.However, the popularity of curved screens has also brought new challenges to the appearance inspection of mobile phones and other products.

The edge curvature of curved screens ranges approximately from 20° to 40°.For common measurement methods such as laser triangulation or structured light, the reflective curved glass surface often causes unstable measurement signals, poor accuracy, or even failure to measure.Therefore, large-angle confocal chromatic displacement sensors are required for accurate measurement.

In the hot-bending process of 3D curved glass, defects such as corner warping or overall deformation may occur due to graphite mold design and temperature control issues during pressing.These problems will seriously affect the efficiency of subsequent curved lamination processes and lead to quality issues such as abnormal screen touch response.Thus, during production, manufacturers need to measure the profile and thickness of 3D curved glass to ensure that the actual profile and thickness fall within the tolerance range.



II. Inspection Solution

Shenshi Intelligent adopts a single confocal chromatic displacement sensor SC03560 to measure curved glass.By moving the measured object, the point-spectrum beam scans a complete profile on the curved glass surface.The measurement data is then transmitted to the host computer via Ethernet for analyzing point coordinates at different positions.


This solution uses a non-contact measurement method, which avoids scratches, cracks or other defects on curved glass, and enables continuous and stable inspection of parameters including thickness, flatness and profile.


III. Sensor Introduction


The independently developed SC Series confocal chromatic displacement sensors from Shenshi Intelligent feature a large-angle light-receiving capability, making curved glass profile inspection more stable.The SC5001A controller is equipped with rich communication interfaces for selection: Ethernet TCP/IP (supports Modbus TCP), RS232, analog output and digital I/O.Customers with relevant demands are welcome to contact us for consultation and purchase.
