Industry pain points and demands
A mode is the inherent vibration characteristic of a structure, and each mode possesses a specific natural frequency, damping ratio, and mode shape. Modal parameters can be obtained through calculation or experimental analysis, and this information is of great significance for understanding and predicting the dynamic behavior of structures. In practical engineering applications, potential issues in structures, such as resonance and excessive vibration, can be identified. This helps in optimizing the structural design to improve the stability and reliability of the structure.
Traditional tests usually use contact methods: the structure is still, and special machines are used to make it vibrate. This method has many limits. For example, it cannot show the real vibration of the structure when it is working. Also, sticking sensors on the surface can interfere with the results. The process is complicated and slow, needing many sensors and wires. It also has a low error tolerance and needs experts to operate.
Non-contact Measurement Solution
Vibration Modal Testing of Bio-inspired Wings

Test Parameters: 2560×1920 @ 1000fps
By obtaining full-field 3D displacement and strain information, the structural vibration characteristics—including vibration frequency and mode shapes—were analyzed to extract and evaluate modal parameters. A comparison showed that the first six orders of natural frequencies, damping ratios, and mode shape animations were consistent with the simulation results, indicating that the experiment achieved the expected outcomes.
Four Key Technical Advantages of SinceVision High-Speed Cameras
01 Non-contact
It avoids the influence of additional weight, voltage drift, and the integration of delicate sensors, reducing experimental errors caused by limitations in measurement location and form. No wiring is required, which reduces the complexity of system setup.
02 Superior Imaging
SinceVision high-speed cameras feature both high resolution and high frame rates, providing reliable image quality and precise timing control with a synchronization accuracy of <10ns, allowing for more accurate measurement and analysis of operating modes.
03 Full-field Measurement
The system can simultaneously measure multiple points and directions within an area, providing more information than sensors and eliminating the need for repeated measurements.
04 Test Visualization
The measurement process and results are visualized, intuitive, and easy to understand, with traceable test results.
